Our house is black and it seems that black, “Kuro” is the current trendy color in Japan. Unlike Western cultures, Japanese associate black with cleanliness. Everything from toilet paper, Qtips, toothbrushes, toothpaste, kitchen cutting boards, food, and aircrafts are going black. The very conservative NHK News carried this topic today while this article wrote about the same trend in July and this article in May.
