Maizuru (舞鶴市) is a city in Kyoto Prefecture facing the Sea of Japan, accessible by a 1.4-hour train ride from Kyoto City. The city is geographically divided into two districts: east and west. The western district is a former castle town, while the eastern district features a naval area with red brick warehouses dating back to the late 1800s.
We spent the day exploring the western district. From the train station, we made our way to Yoshiwara Inlet (吉原入江), an old fishing village with a retro vibe.
