We really enjoyed our last workation in Kyoto, so we did another one in late spring and have plans for another one. This time we rented a historic machiya new Gojo between Nishi-Honganji and Higashi-Honganji for a couple of weeks. The machiya was open and relaxing – except for the neighbor occasionally singing loudly (in English) while showering. Although I did miss being able to view the Kamo River while working. The weather was comfortable, just before the hot and humid summer sets in. Nearby there were an abundant number of good coffee shops and restaurants.
