Dzong and temples, Paro, Bhutan

After settling down in our hotel, we visited some cultural sites in Paro, including one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, the Kyerchu Temple, believed to be built in the 7th century. We also visted the Paro Dzong. Dzongs are fortresses with towering walls surrounding courtyards. WDzongs are half government and half monestary. The Rinpung Dzong is a large Dzong that overlooks Paro.
