Mt. Norikuradake Fall Colors

We took the bus to the top of Mt. Norikuradake (乗鞍岳). The bus stop is at 2,700 meters (~8,900 ft.) – highest in Japan. From there, we walked down the mountain enjoying the foliage. As the elevation got lower, the colors would deepen before turning green. Only buses are allowed on the road, making for a quiet pleasant walk.

After spending the night at an onsen, we took the train back to Matsumoto (松本)
