After arriving in Torres del Paine, in Chilean Patagonia (in Dec before Covid), we settled in, had lunch and went for a half day guided hike of Mirador Condor. The hike introduced us to the spectacular scenery that Patagonia offers. At the top of the hill, there was a condor just hanging out.
There are no thunderstorms in Patagonia, the winds are too strong. Instead you’ll hear the thunder of a glacier breaking off.
Before dinner we met with a guide to determine tomorrow’s itinerary. The days are long, with sunrise at 5:30am and sunset at around 10pm. Dinner doesn’t start till 7:30pm.
