We did a morning hike up the mountain behind our hotel to a small monastery taken care of by a retired local and restored by the hotel staff.
On the way up, we past a small camp of temporary housing for migrant workers from Nepal or India.
Every time we looked back, we seemed to have picked up new friends.

In Bhutan, its common to see the phallus symbol painted on the side of houses and businesses. Its thought to bring good luck and drive away evil spirits.
Life appears to be changing at a faster clip than we thought. Hope it remains the world’s happiest place!
