On our way back to Tokyo from the mountains we stopped in Karuizawa for the night. Karuizawa’s a popular retreat from Tokyo – an hour from Tokyo by bullet train. We stayed at the Mampei Hotel, a classic hotel where John Lennon spend his last 4 summers.

Back to Tokyo…caught sight of the super luxury train Shiki-Shima
