We escaped to Kamikochi for a few days as a respite from the Tokyo summer heat. During the summer, a thick magical mist forms at day breaks before the crowds arrive. On our way back we stayed at Matsumoto to explore the castle and museum. We then stopped at Zenkoji temple in Nagano City before heading back to the Tokyo heat.
