Been busy and haven’t caught up on finishing the postings about our vacation to Japan – hopefully soon. In the meantime, we took another short trip to Honolulu. We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian, it was quiet and tranquil compared to some of the other hotels – liked it a lot. My parents mentioned that when they visited Hawaii in the early 60’s, they weren’t allowed to stay there…segregation.
While we were there, the Okinawan Festival was taking place. We went and got some andagi – Okinawan donuts at the festival, not as sweets as regular donuts but very good. Never been to Okinawa but now we have at least one good reason to go.

忙しくて、夏休みで日本に行ったときの写真を載せ終わってないうちに（近いうちにやれるといいけど）、ホノルルに行ってきました。ロイヤルハワイアンに泊まったんだけど、他のホテルと比べて静かで穏やかでとても気に入りました。うちの両親がいうには、60年代の始めに始めてハワイに来たときは日本人は泊まれなかったらしいです。人種差別ですね。

ハワイにいる間に沖縄祭りが催されていました。でかけていって、アンダギーを食べました。沖縄のドーナッツで普通のドーナッツよりもあまくなくておいしかった。沖縄にはいったことがないけど、少なくともひとつ、行きたくなる理由がみつかりました。
（妻です）義父の80歳の誕生日。みんなでハッピーバースデイを歌い、ろうそくの火をけして、ケーキを食べてお祝いしました。いつまでも元気でいてほしいものです。
