Bread shop

You would never expect this in the suburbs of San Diego, but we have a Japanese bread shop nearby. It’s actually a bagel shop, Sun Flour, but on weekends and a couple of days during the week they sell sweet breads popular in Japan such as an-pan, melon-pan, crème-pan, and okonomiyaki –pan. These are bread buns stuffed with chocolate, custard, sausage, and sweet bean paste. These sweet breads sells out quickly on weekends.

I recently tried these chocolates from Meiji “Cacao Style”, dark chocolate with orange peel inside, everyone at work loved them. In San Diego, you can get it at Mitsuwa or Nijiya supermarkets.
