We were in Park City, Utah for a few days of skiing. When we left San Diego, it was a beautiful 80 degrees – disturbing since most of January has been in the 80’s with no rain. The view during takeoff was beautiful. A video taken with the Flip HD.
Because the Sundance Film Festival was taking place in Park City and the MLK 3-day weekend, a room at Motel 6 would have cost $500 a night. So we stayed outside of Park City – just a mile from the Deer Valley gondola. You can see the hotel from the top of the Preservence Bowl.
One of the reasons I like the Deer Valley ski resort – the breakfast at the ski lodge is excellent. Also with my knees suspect – knowing that I can rely on them having nice groomers, as well as expert runs is reassuring. After a previous ski trip to Whistler, my knee looked like a volleyball – my wife said it looked like a butt cheek. They also have comfy couches and numerous fireplaces with real logs.
For Park City dining, I recommend the Blind Dog Grill next to Blind Dog Sushi – Utah is a long ways from the ocean so they needed a suitable substitute. The food is excellent.
Another good dining choice is Purple Sage on Main Street.
Your photo looking down the Sultan lift line is killer – almost looks like it’s a snow globe scene. What did you shoot it with?
