Don’t Piss on the God

Throughout Kyoto, you see these small torii(s) in front of stores and houses. Torii are used to indicated the entrance to a sacred place – a Shinto shrine, which house one or more gods. The mini-torii are used to ward off dogs pissing on the side of your house – targeted at the dog owners who will hopefully fear god’s punishment and refrain their dog from pissing on the entrance to god’s house.
