Obviously Japanese food is excellent in Japan but you’ll also find some of the best Italian and French food here also. While in Nagoya, we went to the 12th floor of Matsuzakya Department Store in the Sakae area of Nagoya where we chose between having French or Italian for lunch. French at Joel Robuchon or Italian at Aroma Fresca. Both also have restaurants in Tokyo.
We decided to go for Italian and it was excellent – fresh and flavorful. With French and Italian restaurants you want to go at lunch – you will pay 3x for dinner.
The roof of Matsuzakaya has a shrine for its employees.
A pick-pocket’s wet dream…
Sakae is one of the busiest shopping area in Nagoya but the street crowds are sparse compared to Tokyo.
