Endoji, Nagoya

I’ve never been to the area surrounding the Endoji shopping arcade (円頓寺商店街) of Nagoya even though its walking distance from Nagoya Station. Walking around the area you feel as if you’ve slipped back in time to the 60’s or 70’s (Showa Era). Its hard to imagine some of these building are still standing especially in central Nagoya. The Endoji shopping arcade is the oldest in Nagoya and has a history of 400 years – its a grimy difference from the modern buildings surrounding Nagoya Station.
