Our pond was drained to re-apply the waterproofing. The waterproof has 2 coats and the top layer was peeling off. They think the correct adhesive wasn’t used or the waterproofing wasn’t high enough and the water seeped under the top coat. In order to drain the pond, the koi had to be captured and stored at a local koi shop. It took 2 guys a couple of hours to capture all the koi – they seemed to have fun.

I had captured most of the mosquito fish – these guys have been partying all summer, multiplying by several factors.

The plants were moved to plastic tubs.

Unfortunately the weather has not been cooperating, we’ve had an unusually wet October (but its better than fire season – October brings Santa Ana winds which lead to big forest fires).
