Building a home is definitely bad for your heart. Consulting fees aren’t included in our budget and they add up. Since construction started these unbudgeted fees have added to a couple of thousand dollars. Fees for concrete inspection and testing, surveying for setback verification, and arborist to check the health of existing trees. There is also the additional fee associated with cutting down those juniper trees, which will be another thousand or more.

Construction is proceeding. The plumbing for the pond filtering system and the foundation backfill have been completed. We’re almost ready to start framing.
