Taimeiken

Our trip around the Tohoku region has come to an end, we’ll definitely revisit.  We left Matushima and briefly shopped at Sendai.  Picked up some bentos at the B1 of a department store (B1 are amazing places…their the Rodeo drive version of Whole Foods, Dean & Deluca, and Extraordinary Desserts combined) and took the bullet train back to Tokyo.

We’ll stay in Tokyo for a day to catch the Tokyo Bay Fireworks before heading onto Nagoya. In Tokyo, I wanted one of my favorite comfort foods, omu-rice (rice Omlette). So we headed to Taimeiken.  I had the Tampopo-style omu-rice, named for the style featured in the movie Tampopo. Yum.
